@mmcverry44 really? everything that can break on it did break on mine…can you tell me where i can get a new rear rim?
I owned a 2009. When you say the bike is “indestructible” you are right now. I rode it HARD for a year and nothing on the frame or fork every showed any sign of trouble. However, my drive train (shimano Altus) and hubs could not keep up with the abuse.
Seems like a good move that Specialized went to SRAM components. Good video
i own two specialized bikes now it was about 3 years ago when i got my first specialized its bmx bike that my friend found and gave to me so my father and i decided to fix it up we gave it a brand new coat of metallic black paint bought a new set of grips fixed the breaks and gave it brand new tires and recently a guy was just walking down the street and asked if we wanted to buy a bike for $20 so my dad gave him the money and we got it we have given it a new seat so far its in great condition.
whats the name of the song?
I got this bike it is very good for the price.
Get the disc brakes if you can, they are worth the extra.
Problems with the geers though , they change around by themselves in second mid gear, been back to the shop 2 times still not sorted, cable tension problem maybe ,
Seat is great great ride all round , did 26 miles very hard riding and no problems expt gears. wish it had locking suspension , the sport does have but looks tacky in my opininion. Great value.
cool i have the 2011 Specialized Hard-rock Sport disc its a great bike
cool i have the 2011 Specialized Hardrock Sport disc its a great bike
stop winking at me!!!
thanks. i will do that. i dont really need rear shock.
@RockinMissZ It could be used for downhill, but it would be a rough ride. Downhill bikes are generally the most expensive because they require strong, reliable, plush suspension in both the front & rear. Also, downhill requires reliable stopping power, so you would want disc brakes. If you can handle the lack of rear suspension, I would recommend stepping up to the $470 Hardrock Disc & then go on craigslist or ebay & find a 120mm+ RockShox or Fox Shox fork.
will this bike work for downhill?
can you put a single speed kit on this bike
@bucklava1 the frame fork and rims are good i’m 6 foot 240 lbs and i ride it hard off road. and get the disc brakes they are more reliable and provide much better stopping power. good luck have fun
nice bike
Very good review of this bike. Looks like a great bike at an entry level price. I will check one out at my local bike shop. How does the frame, shock, and rims handle a very heavy 6′ 2″ rider? Also is the disc brake upgrade worth the extra dough or should I stick with the V-brakes? Thanks. ~Buck.
sorry to ruin your promotin but GO WITH THE ROCKHOPPER!!!!!!
yk i like my comp better
